Wedding Requirements in Vallarta

Legal Requirements:
THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY GUEST SERVICES AT MARIVAL RESORT & SUITES NUEVO VALLARTA, RIVIERA NAYARIT NO LATER THAN THREE (3) WEEKS PRIOR TO DESIRED WEDDING DATE.

  1. Original birth certificates (preferably the type with both parents’ names listed).
  2. If divorced, notarized copy of divorce decree.
  3. If adopted, notarized copy of original adoption decree.
  4. If widowed, notarized copy of deceased spouse's original death certificate.
  5. If either bride or groom have legally changed name(s), notarized copy of change of name certificate issued by the court.
  6. Copy of official photo identification (i.e. passport, driver’s license, military card).
  7. Copies of four (4) witnesses’ official photo identification (CANNOT BE THE PARENTS).
  8. Completed wedding form (provided by Marival Resort & Suites Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit upon request).
  9. If there is a prenuptial agreement, provide notarized copy.

Foreigners marrying a Mexican citizen must present the permit issued by Mexican Immigration and should be provided at the time of arrival. All formalities and legalities involved in this procedure are the responsibility of the individuals.

Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9 must be TRANSLATED AND NOTORIZED IN MEXICO. Please send copies to Wedding Coordinator in order to have them translated. No. 8 (completed wedding form) must also be included in the package sent to the hotel.

THEN SEND ALL DOCUMENTS TO THE HOTEL AT THE ADDRESS SHOWN BELOW:
Documents may be sent via courrier (we recommend DHL) or via email.

ONCE YOU ARRIVE IN THE DESTINATION:
TOURIST VISAS of the bride, groom and the four (4) witnesses (received upon entrance IN Mexico) must be presented to Guest Services upon arrival at the Marival Resort & Suites.  

Blood work may be performed on arrival day or the morning after arrival. Blood work must be done in Mexico to be legal. See Guest Services to make arrangements with the hotel’s doctor and/or nurse.

  • The couple must be in Mexico a minimum of three (3) calendar days prior to wedding.
  • The wedding date and time are not confirmed until the requested wedding checklist is received by wedding coordinator.
